Khairpur: At least 13 people died and over 20 were injured early Wednesday when a passenger bus collided with a truck in Khairpur.
The accident took place in the city Setharja Mehran near Khairpur district in Sindh, about 400 kilometers from the provincial capital Karachi road.
According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Fida Hussain Aiwan, the bus was traveling from Multan to Karachi when it collided with the truck near Setharja.
Six passengers died on the spot.
The injured were taken to hospitals in nearby areas for emergency treatment, where seven of the injured succumbed to his injuries. The dead also included two women.
Prime Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah Sindh has noticed the accident and ordered the authorities to ensure the best possible medical care for the wounded.
The prime minister has also ordered the Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police to report the incident, said a statement from the CM House.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain Movement has also expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of lives in the unfortunate accident.
